Who You Hire Matters

As I reflect on my journey, one thing stands out: my innate curiosity and the tendency to question the status quo. In the past, this trait has occasionally been a double-edged sword in the workplace. While it sometimes sparks innovation and drives progress, it can also be challenging in traditional settings. However, in the realms of AI and NLP, this very trait has become my greatest strength. At a certain point in life, you realize that the opportunities and challenges you encounter, as well as the environment in which you live, are the only things that limit your potential. For me, that moment is right now. I am eager to push myself and make advancements in the field of AI.

I am not someone who is difficult to manage. In fact, I thrive on constructive criticism and diverse viewpoints, as they offer a platform to refine my ideas and broaden my perspective. This openness to feedback and different ways of thinking is fundamental in a field that is constantly evolving.

My professional journey has been a tale of exploration and discovery. Having spent a decade selling myself and my skills in various roles, I found myself at a crossroads: the decision between pursuing a career in sales or delving into the world of coding. My passion for communication and people skills naturally inclined me towards business development. It was here that I first encountered the fascinating world of AI, and it was a revelation.

The moment I began understanding the intricacies of Natural Language Processing, I knew I had found my professional calling. This wasn't just a job; it was where my natural talents and passions aligned perfectly. AI and NLP are fields where my curiosity, my ability to challenge conventional thinking, and my love for creation find a harmonious balance.

Before concluding my stint in tech sales, I felt a deep yearning to return to my roots – to create and build once again. It's a desire that has been a constant throughout my life. My neurodiversity, rather than being a hurdle, became my beacon, drawing me into the tech industry known for its inclusivity and acceptance of diverse minds. AI is not just a field I work in; it's a domain that resonates with my very being, promising a future where I can continually grow, innovate, and contribute meaningfully. It truly has come to feel like my very own superpower.

As I stand today, at the intersection of technology and creativity, I am more convinced than ever that this is where I belong. AI is the canvas where I paint my professional aspirations, and I am excited about the endless possibilities it holds for someone like me – someone who sees the world differently and isn’t afraid to ask, "Why not?"
